Some of you may have been following that I've been mounting new fenders and getting ready to get everything painted. Well, bike was on the pepsx stand. I went out to cut the grass and needed to move the bike to get the lawn tractor past it. Got the jack under it, moved the stand out of the way and carefully slid the stand/bike sideways. Still can't get the tractor past the jack handle. Drop the bike down, made sure the kick stand was down. Now I'm having a bit of a hard time getting the jack out from under the bike. Figure a tire must be a little low. Don't have an air compressor. I'm all ready aggravated at my wife and don't have much patients to begin with. So I grab the handlebars to steady the bike with one hand and wiggle the jack out. Found out why it was not wanting to come out. I had the shocks off for the work I was doing with the rear fender. So, now I have no way to get the jack back under the bike. I guess it could have been worse. I could have dropped it. Any ideas how to get the bike up high enough to get the jack back under it? I have no one who lives close enough to come help.

Back the bike up put a piece of 3/4 inch - 1 " wood/plywood/particle board in front of each tire. Push bike up on boards. check clearance. Repeat as necessary (make first pieces long enough to lay second layer on.

When jacked up, take deep breaths, thank wife for her support and not making you feel even more foolish. :)

pweg's idea pretty much worked. I had to put a couple 1x1's under the 2x4 to make it a litttle higher. The 2x4 wasn't quite enough. And no, the wife doesn't know and I aint tellin her. Thanks guys.

Just palm the bike on the seat with your left hand, lift it up, and slide the jack under with your right hand. That's how I do it. :D Glad you got it taken care of though.

Now that you posted this if you ever take the wife to a meet and greet or anything like that she will know about this in about 5 minutes. and will never let you forget it.

That's not an issue. She refused to get on the bike. Scares her to death.

Just a suggestion, but if she refuses to ride it, order a new "seatcover". :D :D

(seatcover is slang for a female on the back of the bike or a spouse)

Just kidding, costs WAYYYY TOOOO MUCH to order a new one!!!!!!!!
