I got a new clearview shield late last fall and did not get to try it before winter. I also put on a pair of engine guard chaps and was I disappointed with the new shield, worst than the stock shield. After riding for a while I decided to remove the chaps and what a difference. I would say about 75% of the head buffeting is gone, the clearview was a good choice over the stock shield, I think I still need lowers for a full cure.
It seems the chaps caused the wind to come up over the guards and right up to the inside of the shield, but they do a pretty good job keeping the wind off your lower legs.
