Clutch adjustment question

I have to let my clutch lever out almost all the way before it "catches" How can i adjust it to "catch" about half way out. I dont think the barrel adjusters at the ends of the cable do that. I think they just adjust the slack in the cable. Does anyone know?

Major changes are made at the lower adjustment nut down by the oil dipstick.

That only seemed to take slack out of the cable. I'll take another look tonight.

I think the point of his post was that you prolly have too much slack in your cable.

clutch cable

Yeah, I just switched mine with the braided last night. The lower screw/tension nuts adjust that down by the dipstick. You have to move the bolt down, to take up the slack in the cable.
