Michigan: Gretchen Whitmer seeds the nursing homes with COVID-19

In light of the nursing home disaster in New York, what kind of a ghoul would take that as an example to emulate instead of a baleful death warning to avoid, and then order contagious COVID-19 patients into her state's nursing homes?

Only Michigan's hard-faced Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, the ambitious Democrat who banned sales of garden seeds to Michiganders, saying she's doing it in the name of keeping everyone 'safe.'

'Safe' to Whitmer is seeding the nursing homes with COVID-19 patients, supposedly as a means of lightening the loads of hospitals. Too bad if granny gets it. Under Whitmer's executive order, which she just extended yesterday for a week, any nursing home with less than 80% capacity will be forced to create special COVID units, regardless of their ability to protect their other patients, with the special ventilation systems, trained staff, and personal protective gear something like that would require even if it were advisable, and none of which are included in her order.

If I were a nursing home, I'd be offering free places to anyone who wants one just to prevent a breach below that deadly 80-percent threshold.

Even New York's Andrew Cuomo could see the disaster of that outrageous and deadly policy. Nursing home deaths in New York are sky-high at more than 5,000 deaths, and since the outrageous order was exposed as his own administration's doing, he's backtracked, blaming everyone but himself.

Yet Whitmer, by contrast, viewed Cuomo's bad maneuver as a 'how-to' guide. There will be deaths with even this one-week extension, and the blood will be on her hands.

It's as if she wants them all dead. Easier to harvest their ballots when they're dead come election day is one thought that springs to mind. Or maybe she's attempting to goose the death count numbers, the better to claim federal funds. Or possibly the opposite. The nursing home figures are muddled and non-transparent, something that leads many observers to think the death toll numbers are far higher than the official count. Hospital figures, by contrast, are more clearly counted and reported. Or maybe she wants to clear out the nursing homes of patients, the better to cut down on the Medicaid expenses to the state.

None of these potential calculi have a scintilla of morality to them, every last one is utterly vile in intention. Yet here she goes, and now Joe Biden has been holding 'preliminary' talks with her to make her his vice presidential running mate. On top of old people's bodies.

I have a stake in this personally -- my elderly aunt is in one of these Michigan nursing homes - not far from Shelby Township, center of the legislative resistance to this fiasco, and the whole thing is terrifying to the family. For the last two months, her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren have been visiting her through the nursing home glass in order to protect her from potential virus infection, never hugging, never holding hands, just doing it prison-style, solely to protect her. With Whitmer's order, no there's no potential virus infection to protect her from, what's going in now is lethal, live and real, going in by force of law. People inside those homes have absolutely no defense.

Which is more than just immoral, as if that were something that would mean something to her, it's politically stupid. Cuomo has torpedoed his own chances for ever achieving higher office after revelations came out about his outrageous order. He's forever associated with nursing home dead people, a charge that will follow him wherever he goes. Whitmer is following him like a lemming off that cliff, not noticing what it's done to Cuomo. She needs to run, not walk back, that order if she ever wants to save a scrap of hope of saving her political future, running mate or no running mate. Angry voters who've just lost their mothers and fathers to this beyond-evil folly are likely to dog her wherever she goes.

And don't think she doesn't know it. The Detroit News has run a big editorial demanding that this order be scrapped immediately.

Elderly people have been needlessly exposed to the virus and died as a result of that order.
The Detroit News pointed out that Florida's Gov. Rick DeSantis has managed to protect Florida's nursing home population, while New York's nursing home death toll has exceeded Florida's 30 times over. It takes no genius -- and no 'study' as Whitmer put it, to know that that's a killer.

The Washington Examiner has railed against this Whitmer outrage, too.

You can bet the voters have noticed and Whitmer might be hearing from them, too. And still she persists.

It goes to show that someone capable of issuing a vindictive little petty tyranny, such as banning sales of garden seeds, is perfectly, capable of issuing a big tyranny, too, a death sentence to innocent old people though the most lethal, harm-inducing order imaginable. Go into that room and breathe the COVID, granny. It's the doing of someone making the most Machiavellian of calculations, taking everything but the lives of human beings into account, if for nothing else, because she has grown power-mad. One can only hope that in this vile order, she has the sowed seeds of her own political destruction even as the old people are put into the ground.

DIVOC-91 Once Upon A Time – An Alternative Tale

It was in the early 21st century and America had an all-time gung-ho, robust economy—the envy of the whole wide world. With an entrepreneurial President who deregulated everything and talked up the market incessantly, all the numbers were up, up, up. Well, some were way down: unemployment, inflation and tax rates.

Then in the span of just about a month everything changed. The world went upside down, truly topsy-turvy, as some government salaried officials wanted to have their way and implement an untried Bush-era response plan. Like many things Bush administration, it incarnated the heavy hand as guiding principle. And all due to a novel germ—released far away in a distant Chinese Lab (or was it a wet market?) and then circulated around the world.

Two high-level mad “expert” scientists walked into the Oval Office and told the usually self-propelled and assured President, that he absolutely had — no choice. It was massive quarantine and mitigation–flatten the curve — or we all could die. To hell with the economy and people’s livelihoods., they had one word: Lockdown!

He said “what”?

Their reply was that their “expert” models (especially at Imperial College, courtesy of Gates and Soros) predicted that if he did not immediately close down the entire economy, literally shutter it, and thereby lay off thirty some million Americans, causing a depression, over two million people could suffer and perhaps, yes, die.

The disease knew no boundaries they related—it affected every age, race, gender and income, equally, or at least there was no evidence against this, and every doubt was put in service of more restriction.

Freedom be gone, the Bill of Rights must be suspended. After all there was no cure or therapy; we would likely never have a vaccine, and the hospitals would be completely overrun. Lacking ventilators (which were considered essentially a death sentence) and protective equipment, total chaos would ensue, they screamed, at the top of their still functioning lungs.

Really, he said? Why should I believe you? Have you or any of your so-called credentialed “experts” ever gotten it right before? On climate change? Global warming, or is it cooling? The population bomb? The end of the world as we know it? SARS? Ebola? Resource depletion? Your models have all been consistently wrong. Worse than wrong, not very useful, either. Truthfully, if followed, they would have been catastrophic.

So, the President sent them packing and later called his own team together in the basement White House Situation Room.

Here is what he then said.

It looks like yet another new Chinese flu this year could be very nasty. I want to go on national TV tonight (please add OANN) and warn the nation. They should take precautions and wash their hands, cover their mouths and we will go out of our way to protect the old, infirm, and particularly those in old age and nursing homes or with preexisting respiratory conditions. The rest of us will be fine and get through this. Eventually, we will have what some other scientists call, “herd immunity.” That’s a good thing.

The cost of my plan will be negligible with our economy soaring and with American jobs as our focus, we will do just great.

Everything stayed more or less within a range of normal. As in other years, it was a somewhat bad flu season and a few cities, like New York City and its metro area, took a beating.

But the flu season came and went, and some older and already sick people got ill and about the same as other years, passed away. The nation’s business went on uninterrupted. Unemployment dropped even more, governments at all levels took in unprecedented tax income, the markets held strong, while people’s retirement 401K’s looked better than ever. The oil price was stable, and US GDP continued to grow at over two percent.

Americans went to the stores, to work, and on vacation. When summer came, they went to the beach and the mountains. They stayed at hotels and motels. Every Sunday the churches were full, and restaurants were as busy as ever. The NBA season went down to the wire and the World Series saw a seven game head turner. The NFL and college football seasons started with much fanfare in the Fall.

Schools never closed, not for even a day. Marriages went ahead, family reunions, birthdays, graduations. Houses and cars, and just about everything else, was bought and sold.

The country in a word, thrived.

In November, the 2020 election saw a successful President defeat a demented out of touch challenger in a landslide that brought the President’s party back in strength to control both the House and the Senate. It was all so predictable.

Life was good.

Divoc-91 came and went and America stood firm, carried on and prospered as never before in its long and cherished history as a nation.

Today’s updated CDC numbers show a US total of 91,664 deaths from C-19 as of 5/19 at 4pm. Yesterday’s reported number was 90,340 total deaths from C-19, for a one day increase of 1,324 additional deaths. As of 4/28, the CDC daily report format changed and the breakdown of total deaths into categories of ‘confirmed’ and ‘probable’ is no longer clearly stated. It is reasonable to suspect that the ‘probable’ category continues to be roughly 10% or more of the reported total.

As of 5/20, WHO lists a total of 3,743 C-19 deaths in Sweden. Multiplying by 32 to scale up to the size of the US yields 119,776 deaths. Per the same WHO reported numbers on 5/20, the US C-19 death toll is 89,271 (a reduction of one from the previous day’s total). This means the less intrusive Swedish approach to coronavirus mitigation has resulted in 34% greater deaths, without yet accounting for timeline differences in general transmission dates seen by these two countries.

We no longer need to rely on unicorn simulation models to predict the threat level of COVID-19. After millions of global cases, we now have reams of hard data. In recent days, two things have become clear: 1) The overall death rate is dramatically inflated with people who died only with COVID-19 – not because of it – especially in nursing homes; 2) Outside nursing homes, the fatality rate is low even for most seniors and shockingly low for younger and healthier people. This destroys politicians’ reasons for pushing the irrevocably harmful actions taken by our government rather than a more strategic and targeted approach

Horowitz: New study demonstrates how low coronavirus fatality rate is outside nursing homes

Funny how Fauci has disappeared from speaking for or with POTUS. I said it wasn't long till off wit' his head. Anyone else think Tom Wolf and his sidekick Levine are exactly like Der Fuhrer and his #2, Eva Braun? Wait, Braun was better looking. And der Fuhrer had hair. And spoke with flair!
