I remember seeing a video clip of a bike with a car tire going through the twisties with the video camera mounted under the bike.

Anyone know where I can find it?

EDIT: NEVER MIND I FOUND IT:

Looks like they found the most square tire they could find to prove their point. Most of the Darksiders are using a more "rounded" contour of tire.

If you look closely you will notice he's just doing circles and figure eights in a parking lot at low speeds.

I'll spend the extra money and stay my happy ass on the sunnyside.

video

If you will notice the guy is on a goldwing which will lean over a lot more than a vtx and he is rubbing his pegs on almost all turns. I have had someone ride my bike with me following close behind and watching the rear tire my tire on very sharp turns has at least 3/4 of the tread on the road. but I'm running a 165r15 and its a lot rounder than the 16" tire in the video.

When turning, there seems to be a lot more rubber on the road with the MC tire.

poolmaster and tbonevtx,

Thanks for at least looking at the Darkside. The video shows probrably the flatest tire I have ever seen ran on a motorcycle. But don't think it's dangerous, guys run thousands of miles a month on c/t and NO such issues with turning. If it was a issue, then you would have seen it show up on the threads about it's dangerous. Just check out the Valkyrie and Wing and 1800's and see what they are saying.

My twin brother has a wing with a c/t and slayed the dragon on 28 degree weather (snow all over the mountain) and he was the only one that his tire didn't step out on all while dragging the floorboards.

At least do the research.....................If you close your eyes to this, it's even darker than the darkside.

If a car tire is sooooo dangerous. Why is it that the BOSS HOSS guys arent dieing left and right. They have tons of Weight, HP and torque to break loose a car tire. If anyone was going to go down on a car tire it would be these guys. I know several guys on Boss Hoss bikes that go WELL OVER 100 mph. All are still alive and love the car tire.

I think we have some worry warts in here.

I have yet to try a car tire but would have no problem doing so.

I would still ride with you but please let me ride in front. 8)
That's cool....I was just making sure you haven't decided NOT to try it based on bad data than you just didn't like it and had no desire. It doesn't matter to me whether you try it or not. Agreed.

Thanks.................twin
