Just my luck, my first attempt at buying something off of the internet (just stuff for sell) and it gets lost. I've called these cockroaches everyday since the package left the poo and everyday now they've had some excuse as to why it hadn't been delivered. Plus, they now tell me it's lost and it's up to the sender to remedy, this makes absolutely no sense to me, heck, he's already got his money, why would he want to get envolved? Well, at least I'm batting 1000! And the really bad thing is, it didn't even have to change time zones!!!!! ARG!!!!!

Did you have it insured? The only thing I ever had a problem with was a golf club broken by UPS. The seller had to file the claim but I got my money back. Ask the seller to contact them. Even if he has his money he should help you out.

I just had an issue with UPS. Sold a fuel tank and fender to another board member. Fuel tank showed up dented. I as the shipper had to file the claim. And I wanna tell you, the 7 year itch is faster than filing the claim and going thru all the red tape. But in the end the buyer did get the claim $$.

I've never used DHL, and now NEVER WILL.

I primarily use the USPS and UPS.

Only problem I had was the USPS 'lost' a package, but 2 months later they 'found it'. My customer was very understanding, after all I had tracking info and knew where the package was. Anyway just as I was about to give up and issue a refund the package was delivered.

It seems it " fell between a desk and the wall ", or so I was told.

DHL is the WORST! I've had a legitimate claim in for months over a scanner I bought for my business and had to return. They trashed it in shipment and took forever to pay up on the insured value. Still don't have the money. Luckily I did it through a company account with Goin' Postal and they are fighting the battle for me.

after dealing with all of them shipping stands, i find that UPS has more damage, and claim service is slow.

Fedex is about the best, but most expensive (at least for my size boxes) very low damage and paid fast for claims.

USPS, S-L-O-W to deliver and lose a lot of stuff never to be seen again.

DHL is about in the middle for service, i havent had a claim yet with them.

it is the shippers responsibility for any claims to file, paper work to do, and thats who will get the $$ if the claim is paid. after all, the shipper is the one who contracted with the shipping service not the consignee.
yeah, it suck for the person who is expecting a package, it gets lost and the shipper say "dude, i shipped it, so now it up to you"
the consignee dont really own it until it is delivered to them.

I bought a folding 3hp johnson motor off ebay. When I got it the fiberglass case it comes in was cracked. They wanted me to give them the motor and the case. I wouldn't let them take the motor so they wouldn't do anything about it.

Our company doesnt use DHL but we do use FedEx and UPS. I have never seen a mangled package from our FedeX driver but our normal UPS driver is the worst i have ever seen.

I have watched him push a case of harddrives off the back of the truck intentionally. The box had well over $2000 in shock sensitve parts and correctly labeled. Dropping boxes off the back to the ground is also very very common instead of using the dolley to gently lower them. Even when he uses the dolley he handles everything like he is trying to break it.

Drops everything and never just sets things down. We have complained about him several times but the union protects these clowns. They say all packages must be able to sustain an 18" fall depending on the size.
