Welp, just got out of hospital after six weeks. Car cut me off out on RT. 50, a six lane divided highway, then immediately he slammed brakes as traffic was slowing. All of my outs suddenly disappeared. Nowhere to go but into his six or down, so I went down. Two weeks in critical condition. Multiple broken ribs. Clavicle broken in three places. Bruised lung. Developed sepsis in neck while in hospital resulting in seven surgeries to keep airway drained and open. Three respiratory failures. Damn near bought the farm so I am told. Lost 30 pounds as well as alot of strength. But I made it and am healing up at home for only a couple months I hope. The X is in the shop with 4500 in damage, but should be out in a few days. Am impatient to get back on. Really miss it.

I thank the Lord for his blessings. I am very, very fortunate to have great family and friends as support system. Could have been alot worse. Please everyone remember...YOU ARE INVISIBLE ON THE BIKE!!!!! Oh yeah, I should say I have 30 years on and off riding without any problems 'til now.

Glad you are ok and I hope you have a speedier recovery. I went down last year and had similar injuries: 5 broken ribs, broken collar bone, broken thumb, punctured lung...I was only in for a week but it took almost a year to get my strength back close to where I was.

I also thank God for His grace and mercy in my wreck. I dont completely understand why He cares for me so much but I am thankful for it.

Dam! I feel your pain! I went down 7 weeks ago from an IDENTICAL scenarios. I was racked up bad (3 days in the hospital, punctured lung, broken clavicle torn away from the shoulder, bruised panceras, 3 cracked ribs and of course a healthy serving of road rash)but not as bad as you!

The good news is we're on the mend ( me and you)! I rode 2 weeks to the day from my wreck. Get back in the saddle my bro!

Man, what a bad deal. Glad you made it though. I could certainly stand to loose 30 lbs, but just not that way. Somebody out there must have a plan for you.

Thanks for the up-date. I hope you get your baby fixed as well as you completely mended.

When you get back on.....get a air jacket with the armour in it. Everything helps....I fell in the winter time and had a leather jacket on.....taught me something because I used to ride in just a t-shirt in spring, summer and fall..............not now.

Glad to hear you're finally okay! That sounds like a whole mess of injuries. Puts my wreck into perspective.

RADVTX should be in here soon to ask why you didn't ram them in the back end instead of being crazy and laying it down.

Glad to hear you are recovering! Bikes can be fixed or replaced that is why we have insurance. By all means, get back on the bike, but not until your body catches up in healing with the mind. Mind says yes you can, body says let's wait a minute here.

Keep safe.

Glad you are on the mend! I went down a couple of weeks after Michael did, did more damage to the bike but we came out only bruised. I can't say enough about protective gear, we had it all and it paid off. I also believe someone has a plan for you, you are blessed to be alive!
