They really are as easy as the commercials say. $377 per year for the X, $800 per year for the truck.

I have found Progressive very competitive on this coast of Florida. They beat Geico by a good bit.

Do a little on-line research on the quality of the service they provide when you have to make a claim, and you may not think their price is such a bargain. You'd do almost as well to just put cash in an envelope and mail it to ME, from what I've read of their reviews. This is hear-say...I'm not a policy holder, employee, person with a claim against them... or a former of any of them.

My insurance broker put me with Progressive because they've found them the best when it comes to covering motorcycles. Other than getting a decent rate $337 a year for Maryland I hope to never find out how well they'll take care of me.

Well I'm 24 and I pay a whopping $600 per year through nationwide and they were by far the cheapest. Esurance quoted me a little over $1000. I get screwed! I also have a PERFECT driving record.

$377 a year?!?

Man, I pay about $175 a year on my 1800, and I added on an additional $5000 in accessories coverage.

Progressive baby!

I have Progressive and pay $460/year for a 2007 VTX1300S. What you pay depends on your age, the newness of the bike, the limits of coverage, your prev driving record, your area of the country and probably a bazillion other things that they model.

I have "full" coverage as in liability, comprehensive, and collision, but I opted for larger numbers, including $100K on Uninsured motorist. I think Progressive has "packages" such that if you want $100K on uninsured motorist (of which there are ALOT in my area), you are forced to buy $100K of other coverages even if you wanted less coverage in other areas. Other ins companies sell these items separately on a policy so that you can cherry pick the coverages you want and possibly pay less.

I've been very happy with Progressive and their response in the past, but I could get ins as cheap thru AARP and Foremost... not cheaper, but as cheap. Why switch though unles I'm saving $$?

its difficult to compare across different states, Insurance , no matter who the provider is based on the state its held in. Some are just cheaper then others. Im fairly well covered with esurance and its about 150bucks for the year.

I will say this (for the original poster): I've been with Esurance for about 4 years now (for my car). My (now ex) wife alerted me to them in 2003 or 2004. She totaled her Oldsmobile Intrigue a couple of years back and they paid up in days. Their prices are low because they cut out the brick and mortar stores and just sell over the internet. They are extremely flexible to use and you have online access to your policy (to add vehicles or make changes, etc.) at any time. You pay by credit card (I believe I have automatic 6-month renewals) and you simply print out your latest insurance card.

I DID recently look at them to supplant my Progressive motorcycle coverage but they were almost twice as expensive as Progressive.

esurance quoted me 2x / year as I'm paying for Geico. Allstate came in the best, USAA right behind em, all competitive w/ what i currently pay.

one truck, one car, one bike, 14 yr clean record.

The simple answer is there is no simple answer. I could live next door to a person who's my age, driving record, credit score, and everything, and we'd get different quotes for SOME reason from different companies. There may be some GENERAL rules that apply in an area where Company Alpha is usually cheaper than Company Beta, but that's about as far as it goes.

For anyone who's used Esurance... have you had a claim? How were they to work with when the money was going in the other direction? Because THAT is usually more important than the other, IMO.
