I am looking into installing a new set of pipes on my 03 1800R and need some opinions/help/advice. I would like to have set that has the rear head pipe wrap forward around the clutch basket. Cobra sells a set that does this, but alot of people recommend Vance & Hines as a better exhaust system and I assume this is because of quality. Vance & Hines has a set for the 1800C model that is exactly what I want, but no one can tell me if they could be made to fit with just bracket changes or spacers to clear the floorboards. Does anyone have experience with this? Feel free to jump in with yor thinking.

Thanks

Dray

I believe I have read a few of the R owners have in fact bought Stock C model exhaust header pipes and also purchased the stock C model muffler to frame bracket.

Someone correct me on this if I am wrong here. Dont know if this is what your trying to do or not, but a stock C exhaust seems to be pretty available on the classified board these days.................

I also think a 2 into 1 header is better.................just my feelings on headers.

Just FYI.

Trying to find advise on a BUB 2 into 1 reverse comb megaphone for the VTX1800C. The manufacturer does not have anymore, the pipe is discontinued. Looking for feedback about this. I know that sound is a personal perference, but in your opinion what does it sound like? Would this be good for low to mid range combination? Does this pipe have a true 2 into 1 collector?

below is a '04 R with Cobra Speedster Longs.
I needed to remove the floorboard and loosen the bracket to install. The front pipe dips below the floorboars.
the only problem I see with the wrap around design is, that when you need to adjust the valves
you'll have to loosen or remove the pipes to remove the timming cover between the pipes.
But there is a fix for it. Just need to install a easy access timming cover. :)
