Find a shop that does plastic welding, yes this is a real thing
I'm on it. Thanks!!Find a shop that does plastic welding, yes this is a real thing
How about Flex-tape or Flex-seal spray? May not last forever, but it also may work. JB Weld also makes a special plastic version. Worked on patching an egg-sized hole in my LeatherLyke saddle bag. Twice. Yes, I had the misfortune of my bag coming off the holding stud due to overloading, and it rubbed through from the tire. I did have to make a curved mold from odds & ends to cover the hole temporarily while I built up the plastic epoxy layer by layer.I'm on it. Thanks!!
Absolutely amazing! Thank you thank youThere is a guy on a couple VTX Facebook groups who deals in VTX parts. By all accounts he is reliable according to feedback I have read on those same groups.
I have talked with him a couple times in the past looking for things and while we never completed any transactions he has always been responsive to messaging and a seems like a good guy.
I contacted him and he says he has the tank you need, he sent me a picture.

I did not ask him about his asking price or even the tanks condition, figuring to leave negotiations up to you two if you decided to contact him.
You can find him on FB, his name is Jason Kesner.
How about a way to reach him for those of us who don't do FB?There is a guy on a couple VTX Facebook groups who deals in VTX parts. By all accounts he is reliable according to feedback I have read on those same groups.

I asked Jason if there was a way for those who don't use FB to get ahold of him.How about a way to reach him for those of us who don't do FB?
Yer killin' me, Smalls! I, and many others, still use a flip style phone, to t-a-l-k with people. As such, it does not text either. Appreciate your efforts.I asked Jason if there was a way for those who don't use FB to get ahold of him.
He said "I have my cell number posted on the old VTX Cafe and get calls and text from there."
He then gave me his cell number to post into this thread. (225) 228-8558
He requested that anyone contacting him text him first.
lol did the best I could. He didn't give me an email.Yer killin' me, Smalls! I, and many others, still use a flip style phone, to t-a-l-k with people. As such, it does not text either. Appreciate your efforts.
I am def. in a minority, with no desire to change, or to have the latest doo-dad just for the sake of being "with it". Thanks again for your efforts.lol did the best I could. He didn't give me an email.
By this point I don't know how "many" people still use flip phones... but to each there own lol
It may be possible to text using your computer without having a smart phone.
I'm no tech guy... and I have a smart phone so I never expended any effort trying to reinvent the wheel 😎
I bought the reservoir. You really came through. Thanks again!!There is a guy on a couple VTX Facebook groups who deals in VTX parts. By all accounts he is reliable according to feedback I have read on those same groups.

Thanks for the input. That's what I was thinking. Maybe even fiberglass, as long as it is fuel resistant
You might want to get some 3M Aluminum tape:Thanks for the input.
I used a two part high temp (500*) epoxy because I couldn't find a jb weld for plastic that was high temp. It worked for about five rides. Fulkrum pointed me to a guy on FB who has a replacement so i bought that.
I love this forum
Will do. ThanksYou might want to get some 3M Aluminum tape:

Apply it to the recovery tank to help reflect heat
If you have colored LED 'show' lights either on the upper frame or under the fuel tank, this will increase the reflectability making them appear brighter. BTW, you can buy the 4" wide reflective tape at most HVAC supply stores, it is used to seal fiberglas duct board. W/o all the free 3M advertising on it.You might want to get some 3M Aluminum tape:
