I got the dealer to install my K2 pipes and I was having some trouble with them burning my calf... a new set of forward controls fixed that problem.

However now, I seem to be getting ALOT of heat from the area where the rear pipe exits the engine. It feels like radiant heat and its burning the underneath of my thigh.

Anyone else have this problem? or is my ass just oversensitive to heat?

Thanks in advance !!!

I've never had a problem with it getting to hot, I only have a31" inseam and the back of my calf is only a few inchs away. I've ridden in shorts and still never felt the heat like your talking about. Maybe your running a little lean?

My rear pipe never get hot enough to feel unless I sitting in a long skinny parking lot of extended periods of time (traffic jam for any one who doesn't know what a long skinny parking lot is). Now the front I only have a problem when riding in the rain...It will warm the water on your pants when riding and you can feel it then.

Maybe you are too lean.

nothing beyond the normal amount of heat expected. I have a 30in inseam so my legs a pretty close to the pipes and it doesn't bother me. If its burning a lot hotter than the front you may be running lean.

As others have said, I only notice it when stopped for an unusually long time. When I'm in that situation, I just kick my leg out further away from the bike. I have a 32" inseam, and I can get my leg out enough where I don't feel it too much. And I don't feel it on my calf...it's the inside lower portion of my thigh right above the knee.

I have only a 30 inch inseam (totally sucks being 5'11, I look really top-tall, haha)

I have no problem with my calf... its all coming from the rear pipe.

I have NOT re-jetted. If Im running lean I suspect this will fix my problem?

thanks in advance

When I first put on my hypercharger and did the scar method to rejet, I was running just a tad lean and I really noticed how hot my K2s got. After I adjusted the a/f screw a little, it went right back to normal.

Pull your spark plugs out and take a look. My guess is they'll be sort of a light gray to whitish color. If so, you're too lean and you can start the real fun of tinkering with your carburetor.
