Hi All

Big Lake has a big fireworks display on July 3rd. They like to get it done early. I have not seen it. But I have been told by a local that it is pretty big. They have a bardge at the middle of the lake and do a good show?

I called the Big Lake Bar and Grill. They close at 9 and the fireworks are at dusk. That sounds like arount 9:20 or so?

Anybody interesed in a Bike Night at the Big Lake Bar and Grill (7:30) with fire works to follow? They do take reservations? Big Lake Bar and Grill 18247 State Rt 9 (East of Mt Vernon)

Thanks

Big Lake puts on a great show. Get there early to have a

place to park. Been there many times. Anacortes will have a

big display also. At the Big Lake show, the fire dept. will be asking

for donations. This helps support the show and the fire dept.

Enjoy what ever you may be doing. It will be nice out!!!

Might commit an act heresy, and throw the wife & kids in the car & drive up.
I don't usually do the big fireworks displays on the 4th because of the crowds. But this sounds more down home. I'd bring the bike, but I haven't figured out how to put 5 people on it yet. 4 is the best I can do. Somebody would have to stay home, or run alongside.

Sounds like you need a sidecar - or two!

I've actually looked at them.
But even with a 2 person sidecar, I can only put 4 people on.
Someone still has to stay home, or run along side. ;)

The Independence Eve fireworks were fun. They have a good turn out of people all along the lake. Even though I had to go up in the cage, Randy was still willing to sit & chat for a few minutes.

The "official" display was a bit short, but the whole evening was fun. Many, many people along the lake setting off fireworks, so there was no shortage.

Definitely a fun event. I think it's on my calendar for next year.

I heard on the news this morning that the reason the show was cut short was due to an accident on the barge. Apparently, one of the displays blew up on the barge and one of the pyro-technicians was injured when he caught fire. They say that he was immediately taken to the hospital, but did not say what his status was.

The fireworks seemed to end suddenly. Most people left then they (fireworks) started again? One of the fire engines passed by going south with its lights flashing?

Thanks

I just read about the accident on the barge. Yikes!! We had our own fireworks show here last night. My daughter and son-n-law bought some pretty nice stuff and were out lighting them off last night with some other neighbors.

Didn't hear about the accident until this morning. I hope he recovers quickly. Burns can be a long painful process to recover from.

That would explain why the display stopped in the middle. But they must have decided to continue the show because they started it back up, and finished the show.
We almost left during the lul, packed the car up, and were starting to drive out when we saw them re-start.

Still a good show, despite the tragedy.
