OK, new issue :)

I have noticed that I am having a hard time shifting into first. It won't go in and sometimes I have to let the clutch out a little bit while pushing on the shifter to get it to go into first. Also now it has a noticeable "clunk" (technical term) when it does. Any ideas?

bleed the clutch .... and lube the shift linkage.. all of the linkage... and the clutch handle bar lever.. there is a bushing in there.. it needs greased... and at this AGE maybe replacement..

should be done every 2 years..

Sometimes the dogs and boxes just don't line up. It has been my experience that if, when you let the clutch out a bit to get things spinning, and then it slide into gear, it was just a simple misalignment. No biggie. The flunk will be much less if you let the clutch out a bit, and then pull it back in, and wait a couple of seconds. Just don't go trying to force it into gear if it doesn't want to go. Bent innards are almost always the result.
