Welcome to the board!
Bookmark or save to your favorites folder, these websites, http://www.vtxoa.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=77
This is the NEW VTXOA Garage, a sister site to this message board and contains all your How-to/Tips/Tricks/Why’s and links to other helpful sites for your new VTX. http://www.bareasschoppers.com/ A fellow VTX Riders site that has many write-ups on “How-To” do work on the VTX. Also, for you 1300 guys http://vtx1300tips.com/VTX1300TIPS.htm another fellow VTX Riders site.

There is also a helpful Search icon in the users Toolbar just under the VTXOwners Association banner
Click the “Search” drop down and select “Advanced Search”

Now, enter your keywords and select a single forum to search in

Select 1, and only 1 "Forum" to search in at a time, or at all.
For example, "Best airbox" I would only search in the "1800 Tech Board"

That's the basic way, you can limit further by using some of the other "Drop-Down" menu's like if you know the thread you are looking for is only a week or so old, etc....

The purpose of the "Search" is to offer a member the opportunity to research his/her question better. There is so much information from past threads that you may never see because that member is no longer here, or doesn't see your new post, or just won't respond to the same question. So use it to your advantage and enjoy the board! View this funny and informative film about posting and searching…
How To Use This Forum, Click Here

Take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the forum. At the top of every board there are threads that are tagged as "Sticky" These threads are "Sticky" because they contain very important/valuable information about the VTX and everyone should read them.
The thread at the top of the 1800 tech board called, "Air, Fuel, Motors..." will answer most of the performance questions...

G'day Old8s,
Where are you here in God's Own Country?

There are aftermarket pegs available plus offsets to help the missus get more comfy. If your also after a backrest I've got a Honda Genuine one with cargo rack that I'm looking at getting rid of. This will enable her to lean back, my missus loves it (I'm going to a 240 rear so no stock sissy bar/back rest anymore).

If you're after some more info then PM me or send me an email at lordos4 at hot.mail dot c.o.m. (just remove the .s) and I'll help you with part numbers etc.

cheers

OK so if I understand you correctly, you are asking about better footrests for the passenger and increase in comfort for a passenger.

Backrests do great things for the comfort level as well as floorboards and a quality aftermarket seat for rider and passenger. If you look on the boards you will find pictures of many parts, check out DLP sale good thru the 6th for most parts, as listed on the General board, and then work out what changes you think may be the best for your needs.

I converted an "N" to 'C' model exhaust.

When I did that I also installed the Honda OEM Floorboards.

For the passenger this did two things ...... dropped the foot down about two inches and gave them room to move their feet.

ALSO they commented that getting on and off is a bit easier now as well.

Honda boards are a bit pricey, but I found a set at a dealer for 50% off.

They run ABOUT $330 retail.

Definitely a BACKREST will also increase passenger comfort, probably give them a sense of security as well. ( less worry about falling off backwards )

Passenger footpegs

I bought some a while ago for my Honda 1100 ACE. They didn't fit on the ACE because I put after market exaust on it. I kept them and when I got the X, they fit. I checked for them earlier in 08 and apperently they quit making them. I checked today and it looks like "Highway Hawk" makes them or something similar. Also try Waynesville cycle center. You might have to get them from the USA So I don't know what price your looking at.
