I have been looking for it's location and cannot find anything in my clymer or the PDF of the honda manaul because it only shows the internal fuel pump in the tank from earlier models. I just want to have a spare in my riding bag and want to know where it is I really don't want to have to follow my fuel lines to see where it is if someone can just tell me thanks. I assume it is an inline filter am not sure because I have not seen it listed in the oem schematices for Parts for my bike! I can find my F.P.R.

Well dang I guess I am not gonna carry an extra pump with me. Wow a non servicable filter. I am glad I use good gas. Thanks for the info I was wondering why I could not find it so how many here have added an inline to help keep the pump alive? anyone I may still do this.

No I used to when I first got her. You guys set me straight on that and she does run better on regular. I just meant I use shell gas or BP. Maybe it is only perception but I feel better about useing these fuels in comparison to a krogers ,miejer or swifty private station that buy gas from the lowest bidder. I know all the fuels come from the same refineries and then different companies same as with engine oils and such then add in there magic mix of crap. I was set on SHELL for one reason worked as manager of one of their stations for almost 7years. and saw Ferrari's
The fuel door on most of the ferrari cars said use shell premium only. This may have been in part do to sponsorships for the euro market races but who cares. If they use shell in a car that cost that much I am game. LOL Perception I was suckered but I do beleive you get a cleaner burning, better mileage, out of their fuel.

There is a difference. Check out "top tier fuel" on the net. has to do with the degree of detergent blended into the fuel. An in line filter would probably not hurt anything. If you do it, put the filter on the suction side of the pump. '05s have the fuel pump down by the pivot of the swingarm right? Should be easy enough to do. FWIW, ran my '89 Sentra to 246,000 miles with the original fuel filter. Since the new style storage tanks were mandated in the '90s fuel contaminants have really been alot less of a problem.

I added a late model tank to my bike and use a small inline 3/8 filter. It's glass with re-placeable inserts and so far working just fine. I got mine from NAPA

Yea my pump and gas lines are easy to get to back by rear tire so no big deal. I may do it this season or this winter time will tell. I have been searching for any reference to needing the filetr changed on my model or filter being clogged and have not seen many in reference to this. So may not be an issue to worry about. Thanks again guys for all the info.
I am surprized that BP is not a top tier gasoline WoW! I guess I will stick with shell as I do 95% of the time anyways now 100% will be my goal LoL
