I have a 1800C with internal fuel filter, as anybody tried to install it external. I'm thinking of doing it on my bike, I don't see why it couldn't be done. I'm guessing as long as the hoses are high pressure it should work.

This forum is a great source for VTX information, but you should also check out Bareasschoppers for a write up on the Internal Fuel Pump Mod.

Generally fuel filters are for the unpressureized side of things, offering the fuel pump clean fuel, as opposed to the injector side, cleaning fuel from the pump. Fuel injection hose and fittings should be readily available, but I don't know you'll find a filter for that configuration.

You can change the internal filter. (Honda $67)
Some have used other steel case filters with success.
Somewhere in the last several years it was done.
Fram and Wix filters.

Hans, I did change the filter with one I bought at auto part store. The original Honda filter here is 100$ that I would never pay. I like the idea of having the filter outside for eazy changing.

Probably you need to change that filter once during the lifetime of the bike, so why bother to modify it?
