Sounds to me like you forgot to reset the odometer last time you filled up....

Nope! Done it Twice. The first time I went 199.7 miles and didn't hit reserve that time before I got gas. 53+ miles to the gallons. 212.8 miles and fillup was 4.07 gallons

That's impressive. I get about 155 miles before hitting reserve, but I drive like a bat out of hell.

Eddie, you are always a hoot. For me, between 48 and 55 MPG but I drive like a pepere sometimes.

I seem to be getting 43-45 mpg on my 2007 R in the three months I've owned it, now with about 2K total miles. It don't surprise me that the X could be at 50+ under the right conditions, and efficient operation. Give us some details: what year and style X do you have, where do you ride, what octane gas are you using, any mods to the pipes, or air/fuel adjustments?

2004 vtx1300R, Clayton mod, dyno jet kit 200 main, clip on third notch, stock air box. riding in North west North Carolina. mountains, blue ridge, and open highway at 65 to 85 MPH.

I've been getting to about 145 miles before hitting reserve. Mileage has been in the low 40s

On long cruises with few stops I'm getting 48 mpg. I don't gun it much, once in a while and ride at 60-65 mph (indicated) on the cruises. Got about 1800 miles now on my 2006 1300 R.

The better engines take longer for that final break-in to the sweet spot. A bit longer if you start using full syn oil very early on. My 1300c started hitting 50mpg at about 12k. Enjoy the ride.

I fillup fairly close to the top of the tank while sitting on the bike. I'm good to about 150 mi before having to switch to the reserve. I don't really drive it too hard. Just broke 4,500 miles on the odometer. Been using Synthetic Oil since 600 miles.

Oh, yeah, at 600 miles.. rejetted the carb and installed the HK 3" longs.
