Greetings all!

Newbie here with a question. I searched, but didn't find this specific issue - just curious if anybody else has run into this problem.

I just picked up my 2006 1300c today. I gave it a thorough inspection once I got home - checking bolts, connections, etc. As I was checking the battery terminals I happened to look at the ground (negative) cable a bit closer and found this spot where it appears to have been chafed and/or arc'd through the insulation. I didn't see anything where the cable was routed that could have caused this...maybe a burr in a weld somewhere I've not found yet?

Anyway - wanted to know if anybody else has seen this issue before and might have suggestions on why it occurs?

Thanks...

That doesn't look like a burr caused it. It looks like it was against a hot exhaust pipe.

Perhaps it happened when the battery was being installed? Bad cable from MFG? Nicked with a tool? Something on the bottom of the seat? :dontknow:

Tape it up good and check it sometime. As long as it's not close to the + should not be a problem.

yeah - I thought that too - but I can't see anything in the area where that cable was running that would get that hot...?
