any one who has installed one would you be willing to help me with pics of your install please...
Do you have anything under the bike in front of the swing arm pivot? Depending on what model and year bike you have, you might have something already taking that place. I know others that did mount it under the tank (after they desmogged) or where the stocker is (depending on where YOUR stocker is located). Below the key area is an option as well for some, or even on the left side between the jugs (again depending on year/model)....sure i guess i am just not very inventive when it comes to stuff like this and i thought i read where someone made aspecial mount under the swing arm..
Yep that gives a heat gun an altogether different meaning!:lol:I buy some tools and stuff there, but I'd be careful about putting an electrical anything from there on my bike. My heat gun that I got from HF caught on fire about 5 seconds after I turned it on. Probably not what was meant by "heat gun." :?
I think (not 100% sure) that most of these horns are copies of, or are, the Stebel Nautilus. This is the horn I made the bracket for. I mounted it on my GFs 1300. To answer your question, YES, it is very loud. So loud you do not want to sound it in a closed garage.Did you buy the Bad boy? Is it really as loud as they claim? Also I read a review saying make sure you use a relay to power it. What exactly does that mean? I had planned to use the connections where the OEM is.
Thanks
Great I want loud! Can I just connect it wires going to the OEM?I think (not 100% sure) that most of these horns are copies of, or are, the Stebel Nautilus. This is the horn I made the bracket for. I suppose you could but, it draws more power than the stocker and it is advisable to use a relay. The Stebel horn came with a relay and a wiring kit. I believe the one you pictured does as well. My install was a bit more complicated as my Darlin wanted to retain the stock horn. I added a second momentary switch to the handlebar and used the wire from it to trigger the horns relay. So, like a 'big-rig' she now has a 'city' horn and a 'road' horn. You won't be disappointed with the volume.Great I want loud! Can I just connect it wires going to the OEM?
Thanks ![]()
Yeah this is a HF and a guy in a review said to get a relay so it must not come with it. Where could I find one? Also i was going to just leave th oem horn there and use the wires. I want to hide that good...not like it's pretty!!I suppose you could but, it draws more power than the stocker and it is advisable to use a relay. The Stebel horn came with a relay and a wiring kit. Great, did you get the bad boy? HF wesite didn't mention a relay unless I missed it. I hope so. Is it twice as loud as they claim?I have the horn from harbor freight and it came with a relay,if you follow the instructions that come's with it you won't go wrong! I used a L bracket and mounted mine under the tank where the pair valve junk used to go! And yes it loud.
P.S been having mine for 3 years with no issues!!
