Ok guys. I bought a BAK for my 2005 1300R about a month ago. I got it tore apart only to point of having 2 screws left on the float bowl that will not come out. The heads are starting to strip out. I tried and tried but no go. So I put it back together so I could ride until I can figure out what to do. I now have this air kit just sitting in my closet and I really want to get it put on but don't want to take the chance of screwing things up even more. I don't know if I need to take the carb off or not to get them out. This is my first mc I ever bought and have had it a little over a year. I have added stuff to it but when it come to the motor or tearing stuff down I'm a little intimidated by it. I always work on my own truck but a MC is a whole different ball game to me. Was just wondering if there would be anyone here in OK close to MWC would like to come help a fellow vtxr out with it? Heck I would ride it to u if need be. What would ya charge me to get them out?

Sorry for your troubles. The first thing is to realize you're not the first one to experience your situation. I had a '09 1300R and did a FB Stage III Jet kit after adding some V & H Big shots. Can you be a bit more descriptive? If memory serves me correct, there were four phillips head screws mounting the bowl to the carb body (underneath). Are these the ones you are having difficulty with? I remember dismounting the carb from the intake to do mine. I also purchased Glens idle speed and mixture screw from his website. This made adjustment after mod much easier. I may be in OKC area over July 4th weekend if the problem isn't solved by then.

This transmission is NSA certified & compliant.
