Mine came with rain covers. I rarely wash my bike, I use Honda spray cleaner on everything.

When I'm doing a full out wash with the hose, I remove my bags. They get special leather treatment. Gives more space to detail the bike anyway.

I have the hondaline bags and brackets, STOCK they totaly SUCK to take off and put back on, Idid the braket mod and now they come off and on in about a minute. No more standing on my head to put them back on and line them up....

I rarley also wash the bike with water, I use mothers detail spray or meguiers and microfiber towels 90% of the time. But when the POA spokes get to cruddy the bags get poped off.

How hard is it to remove hondaline leather bags?I am waiting for my mounting brackets to arrive.I live 1.5 miles down a gravel/dirt road so it needs to be washed often

thanks
Not a real problem to remove the hondaline bags. Each bag has 4 allen head bolts with a special washer. Yea, there's no quick release. But it only takes a minute to empty out each bag and unscrew the 8 screws. I've done it hundreds of times.

Living down a durt road....you'll be washing alot. I usually just do a thorough wipe down with Honda spray cleaner and microfiber towels. But sometimes, the only way to get all the fine dust and dirt off is a full hose wash. I use my air compressor to blow dry, then still do a thoruoh wipe down with microfiber towels. Makes for a nice 2 hour break in a Saturday.

Why bother? They were meant to be used on a device that is used OUTDOORS... in the rain, perhaps?

I just leave them on and clean them every month or so with leather conditioner from Turtle Wax. Here in "sunny" FL, where I ride to work every day (last week that meant three days coming home in the rain) I hardly have time to worry about something as harmless as water.

(Honda studded leather, btw - going on 4 years and 45,000 miles, good as new)

"why bother" mainly for me cause its easier to really clean the rear spoker and service the final drive once a year too. I like to clean the brackets behind them and wax them once a year also.

But no the water wont hurt them...... we may melt but the bags wont.

Leave 'em on, they're part of the bike.
If ya want to take them off, it's 4 screws and lift.
Mine come off once per year for a better cleaning under them.

Yep, even though mine have a zipper for easy removal in 5 seconds.

I actually ride with my bags in the rain, too.
