Have enjoyed reading over this thread. I have a 2005 1300s. Bought it used on this board in Dec of 2005 with 2000 miles on it. Now have 60400. Do not get to ride as often as I like but work 55-60 hours a week and pastor a church on the weekend. Do all service work myself. have replaced bearing with All-Ball bearing. Planning a trip to Sturgis--Yellowstone--Grand Canyon and back this Fall so hope to turn over 70000 miles this year. Still run as food as the day I bought it.
I picked up my 2007 1800F at the end of August of 2014 with 10k miles on it.
I just ran over 21k this past weekend. My longest ride (in one day) so far was ~700 miles and I could've gone longer.
I still love this bike!
I bought mine, new in 2002. My cousin had a sport model and I really like the looks. I was deciding on a VTX or a Kawasaki 1500. I have always had a Honda, so no big decision there. It had the floor boards and windshield on it. I have added a Mustang seat, rear floor boards and hard saddlebags. A sound system and sissy bar. I love it. It currently has 19k on it. That is because I spent seven years in Iraq, driving truck outside of the wire. Then went straight to North Dakota to drive oil tankers in the oil field. I had also bought a 1984 Gold wing. I did not want to trash my 1800 up there. I tore it apart and refurbish many components. I drove the wing in North Dakota on my days off. I racked up 16K on it in a year. Now I am selling it to my brothers and ridding my VTX again. The Wings was soo comfortable and much lighter, but I love the power my VTX has. Love to blow other bikes off the road with it.
