Well, it's been a while since I've been on the VTXOA Board. But, I just wanted to share a personal unfortunate event that is happening to me, being that I consider you guys really good friends of mine. For the last 2 years I have been battling some uncommon side effects that the Doctors can't seem to figure out what seems to be the problem. I was even sent to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota by my Oncologist, and they too can't figure out was seems to be the problem. Well, approximately 2 and a half weeks ago, I had a huge lump on my left side of my neck, had it checked out by my doctor, then sent me to a specialist and they wanted to surgically remove it. They did, had it tested and low and behold, It's positive for Cancer. It is Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Stage 3. It's not in my Organs, but I do have to start treatment this upcoming Friday (1-31-2014). My Oncologist said that it is very treatable. They are recommending 6 months of Chemotherapy. I just hope that my body reacts well to the Chemotherapy. The Chemotherapy session will be done every other weekend. So, I hope that I will be able to attend our Annual Dells Weekend, as the Dells weekend will be much needed for me. I know that I will be bombarded with a lot of Medical bills, so, I hope to have the strength, time and money to hang out with you guys on the Dells weekend. I ask if you could please keep me in your prayers.

Thanks, David

Prayers from our family to yours. Just a note. As I'm sure you already know, what you eat affects your health. Not too many doctors will tell you cancer needs sugar to survive. Although it sucks, eating just vegetables and fruits low in sugar will help fight the cancer. Also, check out the many benefits of coconut oil. Do the research. It'll be well worth it.

You and your family are in our prayers. Please let us know if there is anything you need. Would love for you to make the Dells run, just remember four wheels are good too if the chemo is taking a toll.

Oh, man David!?! Been off the board for a couple of months and just saw your post on this. Sorry to hear you have to go through the chemo but it sounds like your prognosis is good which is a good thing. Joan and I will keep you in our prayers. I'm just a few blocks away, brother, so don't hesitate to call me if you or your family need anything. Will also pray you are handling the chemo well and can get up to Dells weekend.

It is very treatable and I have a close personal friend that was diagnosed very similarly 12 months ago with Lymphoma. He did the Chemo like a champ and did some follow-up radiation to provide over a 90% chance it wont come back. He was done with all treatments by August and is doing great, cancer free! You would never know. So, there is hope and it is possible with the will and support from others. Remember"No One Fights Alone!!!"

Prayers sent.

Well, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for your support. I have already had 2 treatments and my 3rd next Friday. Just counting down the Treatments so that I can beat this crap and enjoy the rest of the summer and ride. But, I really wanted to thank you all.

Thanks, David
