Is this radiator unusable?

I'm not sure but I think the intake part of this radiator is supposed to be round, not oval....am I correct?

If it is usable, this is from a 2002 1800c, will it fit my 03
1800r ?

Now, it seems to be the exact pic he is looking at.
Query, does it fit a R?
And anyone else know if the either pic is accurate?
Going out on a limb since I went and felt mine, this one is mushed a bit.

Ha. Actually, that is where my picture is from. I was thinking of buying that until I saw the oval piece on the radiator and am thinking that should be round?
If I am wrong and someone confirms the radiator looks good and these items are compatible with my 03 1800r then I will buy it.

I believe you are correct in that the shape should be circular. This picture from Partzilla shows a circular one as well. Maybe someone with an 1800 can confirm. The radiators have the same part numbers between the two ('03-R & '02-C) models.

Same part number means fits both.

Take it to a radiator shop and have them professionally check it out. There might be micro cracks and cause it to not hold pressure. If the bolt holes line up, it'll work.

OP doesn't have the radiator in question in his possession.

You might call some online vendors first and have them check the part number for availability. The ebay radiator you linked is almost as much as a brand new one.

My guess with some heat and a stainless hose clamp gradually tightening around, maybe a c clamp helping the hose clamp, you could gently persuade it back into a circle. Rubber hose goes on it so don't need to be machinist perfect.

It looks that it was flattened during an accident. You could get it circular again but there is no guarantee there is a leak somewhere due to the impaction.

I'm with enduro on this one, if I felt good about the radiator in all other respects the neck being somewhat out of round wouldn't bother me terribly.
Seems like it would be relatively easy to fix.
Heat and hose clamp or possibly something like a piece of 2x4 cut into a circle and inserted into the neck to use as a form while tapping the neck back into a rounder shape.
My guess is close would be good, the hose would probably take up a good bit of lack of uniformity... were not building French pianos here

An exhaust expander maybe
Or a drain stack expanding plug.

Thanks all for your replies. Sounds like it it compatible with my R and could possibly be coaxed back to round. I'll give it just a little more thought. As always, I appreciate everyone's input.

A good thought, but w/o something to retain the outer part of the pipe, like the hose clamp mentioned, you run the risk of it splitting as you try to expand the inner surfaces. It's not made of steel as a tailpipe is.

It looks like an interesting buy since several parts are no more available from Honda.

I bought a brand new radiator, I believe it was from Partzilla if I remember correctly. It came to me that way. I figured it was a shipping mishap, but since I didn't want to fool around sending it back and I was really wanting to ride, I just took a pair of channel lock pliers and gently rounded it back out as good as I could. It wasn't perfect, but it was pretty close. It's held up just fine for the last two riding seasons. 2007 1800T.

I don't know if you needed anything else in the ebay listing but the partzilla listing was $20 difference in price for new. I think I would pay the $20

Thanks all. I decided to pass on the radiator listing on ebay for now. I think i may end up buying new. Really all i am doing is buying up a few inexpensive parts while they are still available to hold on to in case needed (before they become obsolete). I can always sell the parts later if need be
Thanks again

I have a very small water leak which seems to be left side front of the bike, I thought it might be a hose, but looking at it I can't see any issue so it might be my radiator, which sucks because I just looked at partszilla and it will take 200+ days to get, which means nope back ordered and might never come in. for my bike part number
19010-MCV-R11
if anyone has one I might be interested I still need to confirm the issue, it isn't like it continuously leaks just after riding a couple drips
