I have an 05 VTX 1300S and I recently installed the following mods at the same time.

(1) Kuryaykn HyerCharger
(2) Cobra Speedster Shorts

After these mods although the bike does run (with the occassional backfire on decel) it is down on power as compared to my friends 05 VTX1300S.

I did not install the jet kit that came with the HyperCharger mostly because I am not comfortable with getting into the carb.

I feel that I made the factory lean condition even leaner and I am worried about damaging my engine first and actually getting the increased performance both these mods claim to produce.

I am in need of your help, please. :D

You are definitely running lean. You really do risk damaging the motor running it like it is. I dont know what jet kit came with the Hypercharger but as far as I'm concerned the FactoryPro jet kit is the way to go.

Thanks VTXKC

I went to the sight and it is right at $70.00 plus S&H

Does the carb have to be removed to install the jets?

Thanks,

Frank

You will have to remove the seat, gas tank and carb. You actually dont have to remove the carb completely. You just loosen the clamp that holds the carb to the intake and pull it out away from the motor. You dont have to disconnect the cables. You do have to loosen the plastic nut and pull the choke knob out of it's holder so you can pull the carb away from the motor.

I used the jet kit that came with the Hyper Charger and it worked very well! No bog, no hesitation just smooth accelloration at all speeds. Really wakes up the low end.
