Hi
2003 vtx 1800c 17000 miles
Had a leak from waterpump.
I installed a oem waterpump, with newo ring, gasket, and oem radiator cap.
I did have a leak at the metal upper water pipe with the new oem gasket when I ran the engine to test for leaks.

I didn't drain the new coolant i pulled off the upper water pipe and swapped to the old computer gasket and refilled what coolant i lost.

I started bike blipped the throttle to burp system, added some more coolant, put the new radiator cap on and ran bike in neutral till fan came on.
I shut bike off and noticed coolant on the back of the front jug dripping from somewhere above the idle adjuster.
Anyone run into this?
There's a 2" or so hose going into the back of the front jug and may be the culprit.

Any help appreciated.

I did not.
Is this a common place to leak?
Is it easy as water pump to install?
Do I drain coolant to replace?
Any advise would be great.

I did not. -- WHY???
Is this a common place to leak? --- Only if you omit the O-ring
Is it easy as water pump to install? ---- I have not replaced a water pump.
Do I drain coolant to replace? ----- drain some of the coolant to recover or lose it.
Any advise would be great. ------- Do NOT use a computer gasket>>> YOU pulled off the upper water pipe and swapped to the old computer gasket

Actually I replaced water pump, and reused gasket on the upper water pump(at the waterpump, new gasket wouldn't fit)
I also replaced the radiator cap.
When I started this repair, I only had a leak at the weeping hole of the water pump.
I am now starting to wonder if new radiator cap is leaking or defective.

When I shut off bike it would piss a couple of tablespoons out the bottom of bike.

The small opening on the left side of your picture is the weep hole. Since you already replaced the water pump the coolant leak must come from another site. Remove the chrome cover to expose the water pump and hoses. Start the bike and let it warm up until the fan kicks in. At that moment the origin of the leak should become clear.

Ya its clear,, lol
Clearly coming from top of front jug..lol

If weather can get below 90
It shud be clearer/easier to find
Was looking for the easy fixes
Everyone says probally the x over coolant brings
Or a loose hose under tank
If I only had a nice garage....
With ac....
Time will tell
Thanks all
