Hey there,

I just measured the cylinder head compression on my 2006 1300-S and the front cylinder produces 160 psi while the rear reads in at 115-120 psi. Any thoughts as to what's up? Or possibly going bad? It has 12000 miles on it and the valves are adjusted within spec. The engine starts easily, plugs look clean (a little rich) and there's no exhaust smoke or other reason to suspect anything is wrong. :-(

My bad...

Okay, what-an-idiot! I went back to squirt motor oil in the cylinder to check rings versus valves and realized I hadn't rolled the throttle full open during the rear cylinder test. I did it for the front, not the rear! Makes a BIG difference. Sorry for the post, it's been awhile for me doing mech-a-nic-a-nal things. Maybe it will be a help to other hamhanded mechs out there. Helps to follow directions.

Thanks anyway!!
