I was wondering if the Mikuni 42 carburator could be addapted on the vtx 1300 engine. I know that the 38 original carburator is equiped with a TPS that regulates the ingition timing. And also it has a liquid warm-up system. :dontknow:

There is a Mikuni 40mm kit for the VTX1300. Unfortunately, the VTX1300 does not need more fuel. The 38mm carb supplies more fuel than it can effectively use without forced air induction.

Wouldn't the larger carb throat allow for more air intake as well?

OK, maybe it was a 42. My bad. Still, I've seen 3 people post on different forums about having done the Mikuni, and NONE of them posted favorable numbers over and above what is currently available with the Keihn.
