I posted this on the General Board but thought it would be cool to get the local take. Anybody know what if any noise ordinances exist in MN/ Twin Cities area, or in my case Eden Prairie?

My brother received a letter today that came addressed to 'Resident' followed by his address delivered via the postal system. He lives a half mile away from me so I visit him and my 2 year old nephew frequently on my'05 VTX 1300R. I scanned the letter...(Find it below) Hopefully it is readable. It's pretty funny....

1. I dont have a Harley
2. I am only there during reasonable hours
3. I drive within normal operating parameters
4. My bike rumbles, but there are far louder bikes

Opinions of this thing? :?: :?:

I'm thinking business as usual and if I am ever approached I suppose I'd let them call the police. I don’t know of any noise ordinance and if there is one I am pretty sure I would pass it.

I'm not positive on this but I think almost every City has a noise ordinance. I live out in the middle of no where and we have one too. You would have to be pretty darn loud to get pulled over though.

I have a feeling this person or people think they have a right to bring up motorcycle noise because the live in Eden prairie on a fancy street name :roll:

funny thing is it's a pretty straight up middle class neighborhood. Lots of guys and their toys in the driveways. Not to mention a few doors down from my brother there is always at least 3-4 sport bikes parked at this one house.

I would show that letter to the rest of the neighbors. I bet they would get a kick out of it too.

My 2 cents...

The poor grammar of the letter itself makes it seem like b.s. to me. Prolly just a cranky, chickenshit neighbor who is trying to threaten your bro but is too scared to sign their name to the letter. Any "official" letter would have come completely typed out and signed. Not half typed, half handwritten. I wouldn't worry about it too much. As long as you're respectful to the neighbors while you roll through, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I agree with Steve. That is full of gramatical errors. If they can't figure out how to use a word processor or atleast proof read letters, I suggest you go on about your business. Can't imagine you getting in trouble...or your brother. Prolly some cranky old lady with nothing better to bitch about. Besides, you don't ride a harley so you are safe :twisted:

Hey Caps, My office is in Eden Prairie but my job requires travel around the twin cities pretty much every day. Right now I am at the Calhoun Loop (new condos) getting the new property manager setup with her company's WAN.
