I have the Kewlmetal dual light/turn signal mounts for windshield bikes, currently with one pair of Kury Large Silver Bullets used as turn signals on them. I noted that with the newer style radiator (roughly all 2004 and later bikes have a larger radiator), you cannot install the Kewlmetal mounts with the offset down, as they will contact the radiator shroud. Mounting with the offset up gives you about a 1/2" clearance.

This got me wondering about Cobra's Fatty engine guard. Can someone take a pic for me of how and were it mounts on the top, and how close it is to the top of the radiator? If it goes over the top of the radiator, I won't be able to use it because the Kewlmetal mounts take up that space at full turn. I'm looking for pictures preferably on bike with the new, larger radiator and mounting the 1800 R engine guard (Should be R or N models with the new, flangeless style tank.) Thanks.

If this is of any help, I have an 02 1800R with Cobra Fatty Engine Guards. The Engine Guards are open on top (and solid/closed on bottom) and therefore does not cross in front of the top of the radiator like they do on my 1300 (pic below is 1300) On the 1800, the Engine Guards bolts to a bracket that is in line with the frame. The bracket crosses the front of the frame and behind the radiator. The radiator is just foward of the bracket and frame. Where Engine Guards bolt to bracket are to each side and to the rear of the radiator. The Engine Guards are solid across the bottom and crosses about 1 inch under the radiator. My turn signals are stock without a light bar.

Ok, I think that answers my question. As long as they don't go in front of or over the top of the radiator, it should be fine. HDL doesn't show a different model for the old vs new style radiator, so hopefully it doesn't make a difference. Thanks guys.

I will put up a picture sometime tomorrow to show you what I am talking about as far as clearance issues. Should be able to confirm it from that.
