I've seen a few profile shots of guys that made the swap, and I'm about a hour away from pulling the trigger on a set for myself.

My only concern is going from a
1300s (my Retro) Front tire : 140/80-17
to
1300c (cast wheel) Front tire: 110/90-19

am I giving up too much width? (about a 1-1/4") for a little more height

Anyone have a front view of a C wheel/tire on the front of a Retro

BadX already has my favorite profile shot
( that I've been drooling over for 2 months)

It doesnt look as out of place as I thought it would. I'll take a front view later tonight if no one else posts.

Thanks Traceman

I already sealed the deal on the Wheels!! WOOOHOOOO!!!! :pepper1:

my "Florida SideCover Swap Buddy" Laz (VTXLAZ) just made the deal for me, and convinced his fellow Floridian to end the ebay auction early to take my offer.

LAZ you are the BEST! :beer3:
Big Shout out to my Southern Brother!

The C front rim don't fill out the fender as well as the spoker does but you'll get use to it, I did. But with that said the side view is simply awesome IMO. I love my X :D

Thanks Traceman

I also found one of jwhok's in bigbikeriders albums

not too bad at all

hmmmm...I wonder if someone makes a 130/80/19 that could squeeze onto that rim?

I have heard of some using a modified 1800 cast wheel for extra width
R front is 150/80R-17 (radial) rear is 180/70R-16 radial
C front is 130/70R-18 (radial) rear is 180/70R-16 radial

..but I like the look of the front 1300C wheels the best out of all the VTX wheels,
So I'll live with it until they wear out,
then try to find a slightly wider Avon that fits

Pretty soon you guys are going to start putting the C fenders on your bike. You could have just bought a C and be done with it. :p :p :p :p

BigDog ,yup, then paint em Black so we dont get left behind right? 8)

LOL!

But I like my full Fender'd, Full Figured curvy Gal for cruisin'

I just dislike the spokes for
Cleaning and maintenance
Service and repair
Safety

...but most of all I love the looks of a Cast Aluminum Wheel 8)

If Honda would have made a 1300 Neo,
I would likely have bought one

I like the Cast Wheels, Boards, PullBack Bars, Big Fenders,ChinSpoiler
...just couldn't get it all in a 1300  I even test drove a NEO and thought it would be perfect
...but it weighed too much and cost too much at the time...($19K in Canada)

This could have been my ride if I had deeper pockets

But I'm happy things have turned out the way they did,
my bike is one unique attraction at bike nite  8)
Kind of a combo C-Neo-Retro combo instead of the typical cruiser with leather bags, extra chrome and a plastic windsheild.

...still looing into an Xtreme Revolution Undertaker front fender

If I was going for the "traditional cruiser" look tha most Retro's are known for, it would have been wide white walls/spokes, big driving lights, and beach bars like Clasic X did with his Retro

It's all about personalizing your ride afterall

Hey BigDog,why did you change your suffix number? Did 22 sound too old?
Here's the deal on my handle. I had two german shepards who were sisters and hence the name Bigdog22. One died last year at only two years, and it broke our hearts. So I wanted to change my handle to just Bigdog but it was already taken. So now it's Bigdog 1. The one closest to the bike, Xara is the one who passed.

I had the same concern about the skinny tire on the retro so i went with a 1300c rear wheel and an 1800 retro front wheel. I machined an adapter to mount the stock 1300 rotor on the 1800 wheel. I just finished this weekend. It looks great.

Ya, what he said!

still waiting.....

:D

I just did the conversion calculations for 4 VTX front tires

1300R 140/80/17 = 5.5"x 25.8"
1300C 110/90/19 = 4.33"x 26.8"
1800R 150/80/17 = 5.9"x26.4"
1800C 130/70/18 = 5.1" x 25.16"

Does anyone have the actual rim widths for these
I cant seem to find that info anywhere :?:

I'm pretty sure my 1300 Retro spoke wheel is 3"

If I could find a 130-70-19 that would fit the C 19" wheel
...it would be 5.11" x 26.16" almost perfect.
