I have a 2005 1800F, in the install instructions it says to take off the Airbox Assembly... well I can't get it to come off from under the gas tank... what do I do now?

PC III want the airbox off??? I never did that. All I had to do was connect it to the main computer from under the seat? You sure you are reading that right???
Unless there are major differences between the C and the F?

I thought you were crazy when you posted this, but I looked it up and you are very right!

I'd suggest either removing the tank, or undoing it and propping it up with something. It would give you alot more room to work with.

Good luck with it, I'm not sure why they do it that way, I've installed 3 of the power commanders, 2 "C" models and a "S" model and it was a quick and easy install on them, plugged it in to the ecu and then tapped the wire in the harness on the right side. They definately made it harder for you.

What PC iii you got? I am looking at my instructions and first things says:

1: remove seat
2: Remove both side covers
3: Disconnect Black Connector from ECU
4: Plug in PC III inline with this connector and ECu
5: Remove ground bolt at linked brakeing proportional valve
6: Reinstall bolt with PC III ground wire in it
7: Locate red wire with yellow tracer on the grey side of ECU
8: Connect wire tap to this lead (SOLDIER THIS!!!!!)
9: Conncect grey lead to this wire tap
10: Locate cluster of wires in thge clear boot on right side
11: Locate brown wire (Tailigate 12 volts)
12: Plug red wires in line with this connection.
13: route the power commander between tray and left hand frame rail
14: Mout the power commander to the left side battery box using supplied VELCRO
Insatll is done

well just saw that post and you are right .. HUMMMMM
I can tell you that all you should have to do is take the rear tank bolt out and lift up and you shluld be able to get it out. If you need instructions on how you can look at the install instruction for a Hypercharger from the Kury website and that might give you some insight on to how to get it out. I have an 04 and it was not that bad....

careful lifting the tank ... the rear hose on the left side near the seat
is very short and you could drain your gas tank onto your shoes if
not careful!

yes, the 1800F pclllusb is different from the other pclll's

it connects right into the injector regulators and the tps ...

that's why the stock air box has to come off ...

Thanks guys...

I removed the rear tank bolt, and tried to slide it out from under, but couldn't get it. (argh) Looks like I'm gonna have to take the whole tank off. (%#@!)

Any advice/directions on removing the tank? :)

Don't know when I'm going to take on that project... the weekend's here and we got nice ridin' weather. (#!#@)
