The nub on the lever is too large to allow the clutch switch to function. Fix is to grind it down a little.

Is it exhausting to have your mind cluttered with correct answers?
I'm amazed.
It will start in any gear, if the clutch is in and kickstand is up. If kickstand is down, it won't start....unless theres something new on there preventing from starting in gear...If your at a red light that turns gren and you stall it, you want to be able to start and go without searching for neutral....BigRaymo said:So the bike should start in any gear not just neutral? Mine only starts in N. Dealer stated this is a safety feature. any thoughts!
Hmmm, learn something new everyday! :lol:BigRaymo said:the kickstand is up and it still will not start in gear. 05 1300s vtx.
Your dealer is an idiot!!! I have an 05' 1300 R and mine starts just fine with the kickstand up and the clutch in, in any gear. You may have a loose connection somewhere.BigRaymo said:So the bike should start in any gear not just neutral? Mine only starts in N. Dealer stated this is a safety feature. any thoughts!
Why did you have the clutch in if it wasn't in gear? :wink:scott051300 said:I may be missing something here but why is the heck would you want to start in gear??? I did that once and of course forgot it was in gear! I let the clutch out and... lets just say that I can't imagin what thoes rodeo guys go through!
I can understand if your parking on a steap incline but other than that I'd leave her in neutral anyway!
Just my .02
Main time I have had to start in gear is when I come up to the first light from my house, the bikes still cold and the idle is kinda low (where I like it)...The bike will sometimes stall upon decel @30mph! I hit the start button, rev it a little and go on...I really don't want to be moving in traffic in neutralscott051300 said:I may be missing something here but why is the heck would you want to start in gear??? I did that once and of course forgot it was in gear!
