Well, not really.....but I took advantage of the 4th sale and picked up a Cobra FI2000r fuel manager (among other treats)...and what a difference.............. my low end was really rough..I pulled the snorkel off the air box, put a stock replacement K and N filter in and the fuel manager and WOW what a difference.....No decel popping anymore, smoother ride, and much better throttle response.....look forward to seeing/ riding at Sturgeon. I see that my Tillinghast cohorts have bagged..am I the only one there now? Maybe should consider camping now! Whats up for Friday pre Sturgeon?

Also, I did close on my very sweet camp in the Adirondacks.....about 35 minutes north of Lake George Village on the Schroon river....how about a ride and stay sometime???????

Sorry that you have such issues.
I am sure others would enjoy a great ride through the adirondacks and then land at my camp, kick back with a brew, BBQ and bon fire all the while listening to the water cascading down the river.

Hi Trajun,

Don't listen to the Bobo .... he still hasn't recovered from his trip out west.

Thanks for the invite ... sounds like a great setup. Glad you could swing BOTH the Camp and keep the bike. The best of both worlds. I for one would love to schedule a ride in, campfire, whatever. Sounds like fun.

Look forward to seeing you at Sturgeon.

You say there are rooms avalable at the Tillinghast ? Hmmm...

Trajun,
I just put a FI200R on my 07 F and also love the difference. One thing I learned from the tech board though... the recomended settings are way to rich. The guys told me to set the pots at 2-0-0 and what a difference. Especially with top gear roll ons!

Wow...2-0-0?
I actually responded on another similar post to this as well.

I am really curious about this. Did someone have some real dyno runs
showing the settings to be too rich? Honestly, Cobra DID tell me they set
it a little rich, but they didn't say how much. I have a modded stock
exhaust on my C model, and a set of Cobra Speedster Longs. I've also
got the airbox opened up with a Brown County CLssic mask airbox cover
and a K&N filter. Oh, and I did the PAIR job too and took off the restrictive
snorkels. I'm just wondering if the zeroed two pots are too lean? I've been
using settings of 2.5-1-.5, and up to 3-2-1, and down as low as 2-.5-.5.
The latter has not been mpg tested yet, but the first ones gave me between
40-42 mpg consistently with no decel popping, yet no signs of running too
rich on the plugs. They are super clean. I'm just thinking that would be too
lean with more air coming in and a really free-flowing exhaust with
Thunder Monster "baffles". Maybe the fact that I'm set well below their
factory settings and still have absolutely NO decel popping would indicate
you may be right? Yet I wonder at how Cobra, who has lots of $$ for
testing, does arrive at their settings. And, they make their living doing
this stuff, so they should know better...yet sometimes I wonder.

The low end A/F mixture is lean from the factory, it's the top and middle that are either a little rich or where they need to be at. That's why there is the decel popping as you wind down, slowing to a stop. So setting the cobra at 2-0-0 makes sense. Play with it so that you don't get any decel popping in any range and you're going to be close. The only way to really know is to dyno it, and well I can find much better things to do with nearly $300 than that.

Well, yeah, that's what I've been thinking too. There's lots of things
I could use that $$ for, but I am curious what the bike is really doing.
The only time I get even a little decel popping is if I take the air filter
& cover off entirely and run it like that, or I just take the whole muffler
off the back. Otherwise, any setting I've had has absolutely no decel
pop at all. Right now I'm at 2-.5-.5, and it's been the same. I wonder
if the unit is doing anything, really. Gas mileage always seems to stay
about the same too. I will say the the strongest full throttle 2nd gear
seems to have been at setting 2.5-1.5-1, or thereabouts. But, it's really
strong on the other settings too...butt dyno is such a liar too.
