We're gonna rebuild and restore a 2002 Honda VTX 1800. My husband and I found it in a storage auction. I'm Amy from Phoenix,AZ.

First thing to replace the Fuel Pressure Regulator or FPR. These fail due to age, not miles and your 2002 is the oldest and they fail at around 8-10 years of age. Do not try to start or ride the bike until you change it. The bad FPR allows too much fuel into the combustion chambers and the excess washes down the cylinder walls into the engine case thinning the oil. There have been several engines destroyed from this. New to site. Love my VTX. Just bought this one in April. 2009 1300r This is my 3rd Had a 2004s and an 02 1800c. Glad to be back on and X
