Another question.
I had thought about trading my bike for a Harley but I really like the X and enjoy reading this site. I have a 2005 1300 Retro and took a second job so I can "FINISH" my bike to how I want it. I have a couple thousand in accessories, I am now in the market for some pipes. I thought about the Roadhouse 65 slip-ons but from reading the site it seems like a waste to buy the slip-ons, I have the extra $ right now for a full exhaust.
NOW THE QUESTION :)
I do not have the luxury on a bunch of guy's locally with X's, One guy I work with has the Bub Jug Huggers but they are too loud and the wife will not like riding with those. I am looking to get some deep, somewhat but not too loud pipes that DO NOT require re-jetting, I don't really trust the tech's at the Stealer and am not confident in my ability to rejet.
Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated!

I have a friend that has a VStar 1100 with roadhouse 56 special slipons and it sounds great. It is not loud but very deep and when you throttle up they really will bark. I love the sound on the VStar but I don't know if they sound different on the X.

Great look, very nice throaty rumble, ....loud but not too loud unless you jump on the throttle...

i am very happy with them

Check up on the 3" res-techs by DG HardKrome. They look like the 3" long drags but are quieter. I had them on my 1300 when I bought it, but I replaced them with the window rattlin sideburners. I'de sell em to ya for 475.00 this is what they looked like on my bike. they are in primo condition with less than 1k on em.

If you like the Harley type tone, the Doolies are the only way to get there that I have heard. Still haven't heard the 3" big straights with Michaels baffles - wanna hear them before buying pipes.

best looking pipes on a 1300 - Bigshots - IMHO

are they loud? - you bet, especially when you give it a handful!

are they too loud? - probably - try giving your missus a nice pair of ear plugs like I do

will you love 'em? - yep

will your neighbours? - no
