Buddy gave, yes gave, me a Cobra sissybar. Since my wife has decided to start riding with me, thought it was time to add one. This sissybar has a couple of scuffs that are starting to show rust. Any suggestions on how to clean it up? Was thinking to use metal polish to get rid of the rust, then use clear nail polish to keep it right.........it also has a flag mount on it, but no flag. Anybody know where I can get a flag to go with it? Everything I've found, they want you to buy the mount also.........any help would be appreciated for this.

Thanks!

If ya dont' want to get it rechromed... and can live with it as is (no rust).... then clean it up and spray it with a clear coat. Clear Nail Polish would be a PITA I woudl think, depending on how large an area it is. If it's just a nik or two... try the polish.

About the flags... HDL sells some flags without the mounts... check it out especially with the sale going on.

The two spots on the mounting brakets are very small but in places are deep enough to start showing rust. I'll try taking it off with chrome polish first and then wax it before I put it on. Been working with easy brackets to get new docking posts for the backrest. What a great bunch of folks! They've, without a question, been the easiest people to deal with. Sent new docking posts out, (didn't work), but sent them out without even requiring me to pay up front. Now that's service! Anywho, I'll check out HDL for the flags also. Thanks for the input fellas. :D
