Hi All,

Just purchased a 2003 Honda VTX 1300s. I bought a batwing fairing and stereo system for it and plan on installing before riding season. Other bike I have owned for many years and ride every season is a 1982 Yamaha Maxim XJ750.

Came to the forum looking for answers to common questions as well as techniques for the fairing installation.

2003 1300 VTX was the only year that a 1300 had a fuel pump.
If you ever suspect a fuel issue, convert to gravity flow.
You have an option to stay with the OE petcock on it or use the 2004 and up vacuum controlled petcock.
It provides fuel shut off when engine is not running. A safety device...
Rare to read about leaking while on kickstand but it can happen.
