I had a custom map done while at Laconia.
The tuner said my old map was very rich and
he leaned me out. I rode it and i had an off idle stumble
and some decel pop. So He put it back on the
dyno and fattened it up. i rode for a couples of days and
it seemed good.
Now my right hand falls asleep at hiway speed (70mph,25-3K rpm).
Is it related and if so how do I correct it?
I really don't want to shell out another $300.

R2sVTX,

I assume that you mean your current state of tune is causing a vibration in the bars that now puts your hand to sleep.

You could try a simple adjustment to your bars to see if that eliminates the sympathetic resonance or you could add weight to the bar end with something like a throttle boss or internal weights.

Or, you may be developing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Do you wear padded gloves?

find some different grips ... the bigger the better ...

chrome looks nice as does leather but they don't
help with vibration and make you grip harder on
the throttle ...

also try a throttle rocker ... lets you rest your hand
and just use wrist pressure.

making numbing sense

Thanks,
I do use a gel fingerless glove
And my Grips are all rubber (renthnal?)
I thought of a rocker too,
but I just couldn't figure, WHY?
Never had a problem before. So I ASSumed it was the map.
Could this be so?
Does anyone here analize maps that could spot a
blatent mistake?

you can post the map and see if anyone can spot the problem ...

but you might also just want to disconnect the pclll and see
how the bike runs without a map ...

i'm not sure its the map ... have you checked tires?

Ok right hand only... right I would not be looking at the map or the bike for the cause. I have had this same thing happen in my cage it got worse and then both would do it on the advice of a buddy I went to the Chiropractor (?sp) one visit and I was better. My point is you road your bike or cage to Laconia sitting on your duff that is what would cause my problem, That and age and all the years of lumps and bumps and mistreating my body. I find it hard to think that a map would make your bike vibrate that much more without you being able to see it in the way it runs.
just my .02 hope it helps
Dave
