Just got a new VTX 1300 r and would like to no the best overall oil to use when i change my oil??? and if i use synthetic when is best time to start to use it?? and i heard once u go synthetic u never can go back??

If you are going to change to synthetic, the Mobil 1 MX4T should do just fine.

I made the switch during my second oil change @ about 2,000 miles.
Some people do it at 600 others wait until 1,500 or more. One of the techs at the local shop said not to do the switch until the motor has been broken in 1,000 miles or more. Some will tell you it doesn't matter, just do it.

I use the Mobil 1 brand mentioned above.

Definitely Mobil 1 Not called MX4T anymore, it is called:
Mobil 1 Racing 4T

It is made specifically FOR motorcycles, and is safe on a wet clutch...
Best part is that it is available at your local AutoZone, unlike Amsoil where you either have to order off the net or find a dealer (good luck, I have 1 in my area, and he never answers).

Also think about the filter you use, Hoda is good but not cheap.
I use the Bosch 3323, and love it, it is longer than the Honda, and has more filter media.
