Eight years ago Inspired by the Miracle Run held every year by the New Jersey Elks Ray Fornicola aka Ray Cola A person who grew up in the city and overcame adversity Now lives in the suburbs Blessed with a wonderful wife and two amazing children He wanted to give something back to his community so he decided to start a motorcycle run to raise money and awareness for the Sayreville D.A.R.E. program but as it turns out the D.A.R.E. program could not accept the donation because the run was starting at a bar [a conflict of interest] the D.A.R.E. program told Ray to go see Maryanne Gorden of Sayreville ‘A Saint’ that works with Brain Injured Children [Sayreville Association For Brain Injured Children]“they can really use the help’
Starting out with only 17 riders Ray Cola’s Bikers Rally for Brain Injured Children has grown with the help of the New Jersey Elks and many others. Thousands of people have participated in the event over the past 8 years
I checked about the times cuz I didnt see how 5 bands would play between 12-3. Kickstands up at the various meeting places at 12:00. The event at the Old bridge lodge with the bands and stuff starts at 1:00 and goes until whenever everyone leaves....sounds like an awesome day for a good cause. If you go to the Old Bridge Elks site and then click links you can see the flyer from other NJ elks lodges for where they are meeting to take group rides to the rallypoint.
WOW that was fun. Went to Bellos- had to be a couple hundred bikes on the group ride with traffic control from there through a great route and eventually to the Old Bridge Elks lodge. I rode for over an hour through central NJ and think I put one foot down, once the whole time. Cheers to the guys who were relentlessly riding ahead doing traffic control!
First big group ride I have been on and an awesome experience i will not soon forget.
