Had the tank off today doing some maintenance on my '03 1300 S. I have read where some have had problems with the fuel pump, so I figured what the heck. I removed my fuel pump and have the fuel line run direct from the petcock to the carb. I usually always turn off the fuel anyway so I didn't change the petcock to a vacuum operated one. Took it out for a ride tonight and I swear it is running better. Maybe filter partially plugged or fuel pump starting to go bad, or just my imagination. Anyway now I don't have to worry about the pump leaving me setting someplace.
