I know this is WAY off topic, but the wife and I are looking to go to Jamaica in Aug. We are looking at the Sandals and Couples resorts. Looking in Negril, MOntego bay or Ocho Rios.

Anyone here been and have any suggestions? You can either PM me or post up here.

I know I will get some stright answers here.

Thanks in advance.

Been to all of those places. About 7 or 8 trips there with the whole family.
Stay in the resort and make sure it's all inclusive.
Take outing in groups which they do from the resort. A must do is the Dunns river falls.
If you go alone or with the mrs no kids, and you want a night out. I've had some nice fun at Margarita vill in Montego bay by the airport. There's a slide from the 2nd floor deck right down to the water.
Stay away from the casino across the street, the odds are not good.
When in Jamaica do like the Jamaicans they will love you.
I usualy walk up and down the beach and spend 10-50 dollars on the walk into beach huts for suveniers :lol:
A few years ago I bought some coconut pocket books for the girls and at the airport when I got searched they found seeds in them :D
It wasn't me the vender had them in there to keep away from the rats.
Get the sport manager to take you on a walk along the beach for some private snorkling instead of the group stuff. I had my boy chasing octopus and lobsters.
Have a blast, that's one of my favorite vacation destinations.

I've been to Couple's in Ocho Rios. All inclusive is the way to go,they do mean all inclusive-snorkling,sailing, golf, food, drinks.Very nice resort. They also have a nude island just of the coast for hotel guests. +1 on the falls- coldest water I've ever been in(major shrinkage) :lol: .

Been there a few time went both all inclusive and also not.......pro's and cons about both........all inclusive is the best deal if you are mainly going to stay at the resort but if you do a lot of sight seeing you may not want to........you can also pick the days at most places you want to go all inclusive. I didn' do the all inclusive on the first or last day, wasn't going to be there all day so why pay the extra........also, a couple of days we went out sight seeing, hired a local guy to take us around, also climbed the falls, I think every one should do it once...and yes MAJOR shrinkage :lol: I've been there 5 times so far and planning to go back next year taking the kids now there older.......Cliff diving is a must, great cliffs and snorkling......also went diving/snorkling for lobster........We cought some nice lobster and the hotel cooked them for us :wink: The times i've been there we stayed in Montego Bay, Negril, Port Antonio & Ocho Rios. If I win the Lottery I'm buying some land there :D

Sounds great !!!!

Isn't there a Sandals 1, 2, 3 ?

1=family
2=couples only, topless optional.
3=singles/couples nude optional.

My ex and I looked once upon a time at going on a trip like that.

I have never been out of country.

Just wondering. 8)

Love Jamaica! I've been there numerous times.

My favorite places to stay are...

Breezes Runaway Bay

and Grand Lido Braco

Both are all-inclusives. Breezes is less money but still very nice. Golf course across the street.

Brand Lido is upscale. One of the nices places I've ever stayed.

Both have great beaches and are close to Dunn's River Falls/Ocho Rios.

Both places usually have big discounts depending on season, so shop around.
