I got the honor of driving the Veterans float for Ammerican Legion Post #1 in the parade in Germantown yesterday. We were first in line, where these men and women deserve to be. The crowd was fantastic, a standing "O" for the entire parade route. My dad, who is a Vietnam vet, and has marched in many parades, said they have never gotten a response like that before. There were many shouts of thank you (well deserved, and for some a little late). I have never been involved in something like that before, and having never served, can never understand how much it meant to the men and women who deserve our gratitude for sacrificing so much for the freedoms we enjoy.
For all of the past and present military persons who read this, THANK YOU!! Your service will not be taken for granted, or forgotten. God bless you all!!

Just a little note, to get this off my chest. All of the gentlemen out there, and I'm sure that most, if not all of you are, PLEASE remember to take off you hats when the flag goes past. I feel that not doing so disrespects our protectors who fight for it every day.
