Yes, I remember this bike very well. Those Jardine pipes are priceless.
Yep. Tapper was a master on the 1800. He also put the 1300 final drive on it. I have Vance & Hines pipes on one, Roadhouse Shorty on the other, but the Jardines on sons bike sing a tune like no other.......Lost contact with Tapper about a year after I bought the bike, and haven't been able to locate him. I know and understand the story and reason he "disappeared", but it's been about 8 years since that situation occurred. He may have resurfaced, but if he has, I haven't heard from him.

The last I heard from him was he was having major back problems and couldn't ride much...that was years ago, though.

I have purchased two 2003 VTX-1300S's and one 2006 S in the past year. The first was pretty well dressed with Mustang seats and V&H pipes. The bike was in excellent condition. A couple of weeks ago I bought my third S, this one was in rough condition. I thought about turning it into a rat bike with no front fender. As I started pulling old, rusty, and ugly pieces off the bike it started to look pretty good. My buddy replaced his nice stock seat and gave me his.

Next week it gets painted, Porsche Creme White and I'm installing a set of perfect Fury pipes I bought for $100.

I should have weighed all the stuff I pulled off - running lights, highway pegs (heavy), rear pegs, rear seat, bags, back mounts, and sissy bar.

I'll post more pics after paint. Here's some pics including the sad pic from the FB Marketplace ad.

Had it maybe 2 mths (2008 1800C) 39 years on bikes & l have always had a bit of a laugh at big cruisers & a while ago I took this for a test ride. I bought it that day. God I love that torque & rumble !

Is that a Roadhouse shorty pipe or is it just the angle of the pic. A shorty looks like stock except shorter and they do have a nice sound. I have one on my '02 and Vance and Hines on the '05. Nice ride.

Still very new to the vtx world & to my thinking it’s just a stock 1800c pipe that’s been opened inside but certainly does not sound like something out of a factory..I’d love to know

That looks and sounds like the RH Shorty...the stock pipe didn't have a remoavble tip, IIRC.

Tks heaps.. I had no idea & just searched it. It bloody sounds great I think
One of the Texas X Riders in our Houston group had one on his 1800...one of the best sounding exhausts for the 1800. Hang on to it, 'cause RH has been out of business for over a decade now.

Cheers, I bought the bike from a shop & the bike was traded with an ugly loud pipe (their words) that would not pass a road worthy certificate so the shop bought this pipe at a bike wreckers & put it on. I’d always wondered

It's amazing they found one at a bike wreckers. Imo the pipe looks stock to me. It looks about the same length as a stock 1800c pipe with a stock tip. The extra sound may come from an altered baffle. Nice bike! I love the paint scheme
