basic 2006 VTX 1800N. All I have done is with my fellow VTX buddy XBeast was to put a K&N air filter on, put some spacers on the cover to allow more air into it. Runs great.

Trabuco canyon General store. two old gas pumps, no fuel there. What is on the muffler?
I'd bet its melted shoe sole residue.

It is rust and pitting. I got most of the rust out with steel wool and Wd40 then polished but it’s an eye sore. The previous owner left it outside and I don’t think ever washed it because the wheels were flat black. My drill and Mothers mag polish took care of that. Today I rode the bike and treated myself to In and Out Burger. So good.

5 Guys is better, IMHO. Just a wild thought.....you could maybe find a chrome tailpipe length, and "sleeve" it. I buggered up the engine side of my first set of HK3", and got a short chrome extension pipe @ Advanced Auto, and after some careful measuring and cutting-wheel trimming, made a 'bandaid' that few ever knew was there. It's been replaced now, for several years, by the current set of HK3's.

Just pull the muffler, yank out the baffle and git 'er re-chromed.

here's mine, a 2002 VTX1800S with "R" alloys... a little rusty, saved from rusting away on the CA coast... added alloy rims, t-bar, engine guard, backrest, seat, saddle bags (mounted on stock hard mounts), progressive 430 shocks (latest addition, they are very smooth), flags & mount, and my garmin 700i mount... she's gotten a few mods, fresh new fluids all around, avon cobra chrome tires... she runs hard...

My 2006 VTX 1300. Just added bags and a trunk so we can do a little riding and the better half can have her necessities. (Will be going to Sturgis on the bike this year again) These are really nice solid bags. I also used the locking quick disconnect with them and it worked out very well, needed to do a little customizing to get them to work but well worth the extra time. Last year I did the bat wing and I love it. Bike handles better with the wing than it did with the shield. Of course the new mustang seat and floor boards for the rear.

Unless she is short, get some extenders for the rear floorboards so she can stretch her legs out & into different positions...it will be like a recliner back there for her. Nice job! (y)
