Received this in my email today and thought I would pass it along..... Sounds like a worthy event.....

On Sunday, August 12, 2007 Pittsburgh Area Honda dealerships will be sponsoring the "Pittsburgh Ride For Kids" a ride benefiting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofitable charitable organization whose mission is to: "discover the cause and cure of childhood brain tumors by supporting medical research, aid in early detection of children's brain tumors, improve the quality of life of children through better and less invasive treatments, and provide educational and emotional support to these children and their families".

The Ride for Kids is an annual event. And once again this year the ride will begin at the Home Depot in Cranberry, PA. We would very much like to put a group together to ride out of our dealership and travel to the ride site. If you are interested, please visit our website. Use the form (http://www.mositesmotorsports.com/contact_us.asp) to enter your contact information. Under "Comments" enter "Ride For Kids". You will be contacted concerning the details via email. Please forward this email to everyone in your address book. You can also pick up your Registration and sponsorship brochure here at the dealership. If you would like additional information regarding the ride you can call 1-800-253-6530 or visit http://www.pbtfus.org/rideforkids/.

If you are unable to make the ride, but would like to help financially, we have posted a link on our homepage http://www.mositesmotorsports.com/ that makes it possible to donate via credit/debit cards. Won't you please help us help the kids.

Yes the "Ride For Kids" is a very worthy event. As far as the $35.00, it is not a "fee" it is a tax deductable donation. The families of the kids who suffer the brain tumors spend their life savings on treatment. The Ride for Kids events are AMA sanctioned and and organized on by dedicated volunteers and they even give out a light breakfast with coffee and a lunch. They also give away a Honda motorcycle at each event. Anyone can come up with $35.00 for the kids. I collect over $1500 each year just talking to people in passing. I can't imagine looking these kids in the eye and saying $35.00 is too much to help... ouch.
This past year the Philadelphia Ride For Kids event lost two of the Star kids to brain tumors, and our sweep rider to a motorcycle accident. It is tough to go to the funerals knowing more can be done.
Ask anyone who has been to a Ride For Kids event about how they felt afterwards. Some riders come out just as another ride, afterwards they become comitted to the cause and become fund raisers and advocates for the Ride For Kids. How many motorcycle events have that much impact on someone?
Join an event near you, Pittsburg in August and Philadelphia in September.

Hi all... I'm planning for this as well. Of course, we all know how my plans frequently go. Anyway, I'm gonna try.

Hey Tim,

I hope you can make it. It was nice to see you at Thunder Run. I really enjoy that event.

Scott Korb and I are meeting at the McDonalds in Wilkinsburg at 7:30 AM if you, or anyone, would like to join us for the ride to Cranberry.

Hi Barb,

Yes, that was a fun group. I was hoping to talk with you some but I didn't see you after we parked. That was a pretty big group of bikes!
Thanks for the invite - I'll definitely plan on joining you. (Wilkinsburg... should I bring a gun?)

I have lived in Wilkinsburg for 16 years without owning a weapon. The violence here isn't random, so I think you'll be ok. No guarantees, of course...

Just got back from the ride. Great weather. They had coffee, fruit cups, and cinminum? rolls there. The ride was about 35 mile up to Slippery Rock University campus, all escorted, non stop, and I helped. Nice lucnh from Subway, Frito-Lay, TasteKake, and soda and water. Meet some of the kids that the contributions help. They raised over 64K today. If you contributed enough you had chances on a Honda motorcycle, Dunlop tire, and a new helmet. Had a great time. Now I've got to run out to my neice's party.
