I have been planning the foots mod with chrome rims on my 1300c for months. Now that I have all the parts and funds, I'm having second thoughts. Is it worth it to spend the bucks that I know I won;t get back? Or should I go with the foots mod and forget the chroming. I figured if I was going to chrome the rims, now is the time. Or should I just forget all of it?

What would you do?

Thanks

I'm doing the same thing. I'm not chroming. I'm gonna polish them like I have my top tree and lower forks.

GreenGhost on vtxcafe has pics of all his polished..."mirror like" comes to mind.
Check it out, alot cheaper and you can do it or pay someone.

If you think about the mods and the money you spend on your bike, none of it is worth it. You won't get any of the money back out of it. Don't think of it that way. Think of it as a mod that you want and do it. I used to think the same way. Now I just do it. :D

If you want just send me the whole setup. I will install it and send you pics. Then if you like it you can get another batch of parts and do it on yours!!!
How that sounds?

I agree with 2FS4LV. I spent allot on my bike this winter for my pleasure. I figure I have 12,000 miles on the bike and should get over 100,000 miles, so I will be enjoying the money I spent for a long time. When it's time to sell down the road, I won't get all my money back but it was fun while it lasted :D . That's how I look at it. Good luck :!:

+1 what Marc said. Chromed wheels look sweeet ... and they're not all that common. Between the Foots mod and the chrome, you'd have a fairly unique setup, especially if you pop a 200 tire on it.

You never get all the mod money back. You don't do it for money unless you are in the buisiness of selling bikes. You do it because YOU want it done. Trying to justify it is a waste of energy and time. Its not an investment its a splurge.

Thanks for all the feedback. You talked me into it. Sent the stuff out to Gateway Xtreme for chroming/polishing.

let me add that if you bought all of your foots mod parts used its not really a ton of money.

i paid $500 for a complete foots mod with all new parts and brake lines with a new metz 200 tire mounted and balanced.

it was money well spent cause i loved the look of it.

i got all of my money back on it when i sold it for a 250 kit.
