Hey guys,

My friend Jay is out in VA with a faulty Power Commander. The mechanic told him to just disconnect it and let the ECU re-establish itself. He and I have no idea how to SIMPLY disconnect the PC3 - any help will be appreciated - call me at 402 880 7875 if you have advice and instructions.

Thanks

Andy, I'm at work so I can't call. It sounds like the Mechanic is telling him to do a hard reset of the PCIII. To do this all you will need to do is disconnect the negative lead to the battery for a few seconds. This will not effect programing as it is in non-volital memory, but will cause the PCIII to reinitiallize and clear any glitches. I hope he doesn't have a vampier clip connection on the PCIII as this will cause all sorts woes. Remove the Vampier clip and solder as well.

I'm sure it's a little late now but..

Just unplug the 2 big connectors and plug them back into the ECU. The hotwire and TPS wire on the PCIII can stay connected, they won't matter.

That's it. The ECU will continue it's normal operation and the bike will run fine.

It could be though that he just needed to solder the TPS connection.
