On a trip I filled up at a BP that only had 10% ethanol additive fuels, and I thought to myself, "Self, does this stuff eat fuel injection components?"
Twenty miles later I had a blown Fuel Pressure Regulator. (But it also had a previous 10K miles on it, to be fair.)
Anyone out there know if the diaphragm is attacked by ethanol? Or was it just time for it to go to the Big Parts Bin in the Sky?

I had to replace my FPR on my 03 1800C a few months ago. I don't think 10% ethanol damages any parts, but from the number of pre-05 bikes having that problem, I think it is just a poorly designed part. At only $28 (from HDL) it is about the cheapest fix you can find. Just hope the new one has better components. I replaced my plugs, wires, and one coil trying to troubleshoot my problem.

No, it doesn;t. Illinois we have had 10% ethanol in all our fuel for the past 20 years. You just got lucky to have the FPR go out on you 8)
